Dong Kingman watercolor paintings enrich the collections of over 50 museums and institutions in the United States, is recognized as one of America’s premier watercolor masters. As a painter on the forefront of the California Style School of painting, he was known for his urban and landscape paintings, as well as his graphic design work. Recipient of virtually every major award in this medium, the artist was honored in 2001/2002 with a highly successful exhibition, “Dong Kingman: American Master,” spanning seven decades of Kingman’s artistic career. At the invitation of the Ministry of Culture, People's Republic of China, the retrospective was being expanded and renamed “Dong Kingman: Watercolor Master.” This major exhibition of 100 paintings and drawings, organized by Century Masters, Incorporated, toured in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai in 2002/2003.
